[TDR hosts] POSTPONED Holly Bennett: ‘Riding the Curve’
TDR invites you for an evening of Art on Friday 3rd April from 6pm, where Holly Bennett’s solo exhibition Riding the Curve will trigger the artist in you through her sculptures of people, animals and unusual creatures, which she uses as metaphor to tell an internal narrative.
Bennett will introduce her exciting and moving art pieces that speak to an audience interested in engaging with areas of deeper significance within our lives.
Riding the Curve is a collection of five series of sculptures, each with their own distinct narrative, which come together to offer an intriguing and humorous take on the many different ways that we try to keep on top of life as it undulates beneath us. Populated by small characters that seem to gallop through the furniture of our every-day lives, these little sculptures draw us into their world as we imagine that we are also in their reality. Full of creatures which we can relate to whether they are known or bizarre, this show questions what we think of as familiar, and re-assures us with security in the midst of movement.
The original sculptures are modelled in wax and then cast as a limited edition into a vibrant British-made eco-resin, which creates an aesthetic that keeps the beautiful translucent qualities.
Through stimulating visual language we aim to awaken your senses and create an eventful evening for you to spend with new like-minded acquaintances and enjoy our company, mixed with interesting art.
The event is free, however, you do need to register ahead of the event to be able to enter (18+ only please). There is a full bar on the premises. Please note The Drawing Rooms is unfortunately not an accessible venue, as it is a grade 2 listed space on the 1st, 2nd and 3rd floors of a Georgian townhouse.
